Shana Ellason was a presenter at the ISTE 2013 Conference with her Symbaloo webmix of digital resources for interactive writing.

[These are] engaging websites and educational apps that motivate and support students in becoming proficient writers. In the digital age, students have a greater connection with technology rather than the traditional pencil and paper method. Interactive websites such as Kerpoof, Story Jumper, and Storybird motivate students to become wonderful storytellers while still using the writing process. Students have the opportunity to brainstorm and prewrite before creating their online story. They also have the ability to save their stories online so they can revise and edit before publishing. Students will love sharing their writing creations by presenting their digital storybook to classmates. Teachers can have them print a version to grade or keep as part of their writing file.
